Donate to the Elizabeth Miller Watkins Memorial Scholarship Fund
The success of the EMWMSF allowed Kitchen-8 to award numerous scholarships each school year. The EMWMSF Advisory Board welcomes contributions so the Kitchen 8 Scholarship Selection Committee will be able to award even more scholarships to accomplished, deserving young KU women who have demonstrated financial need.
Kitchen 8 is an all volunteer organization, so 100% of your donation to EMWMSF goes directly to deserving students. All other Kitchen 8 activities and programs are funded by the Kitchen 8 "Sugar Bowl".
Please send your tax-deductible contributions, made payable to the EMWMSF, to:
GREATER KANSAS CITY COMMUNITY FOUNDATION
1055 Broadway, Suite 130
Kansas City, MO 64105-1595
Kitchen 8 thanks you for your generous donations again this year. It is so exciting to have dedicated alumnae step up and ensure that Kitchen 8 has the funds necessary to fund our projects to preserve EMW's legacy and help "the girls who must travel uphill."
These "Sugar Bowl" funds are used for the Kitchen 8 annual newsletter, Web site maintenance, New Women Dinner, New Women booklet, Annual Meeting costs and miscellaneous hall projects. Please let us know if there is a special project you would like to support.
Donations to the Sugar Bowl, made payable to Kitchen 8, should be sent to:

Dear Watkins and Miller Alumnae,
Greetings from Kitchen 8, your alumnae organization comprised of
residents, past and present of Watkins and Miller Halls. As the official
keepers of the legacy of Elizabeth Miller Watkins, one of our goals is
to provide a community of support for previous and current residents.
We hope to create a way for alumnae, students and
recent grads to build bridges and support each other by a mentoring
project. The goal of the project is to connect Watkins/Miller residents
and recent graduates with alumnae. Kitchen 8’s strong member base of
more than 460 alumnae provides a great starting point. We have
Watkins/Miller alumnae living in 39 different states and four different
countries. Our alumnae are engaged in a variety of professions and
endeavors. With those kinds of credentials we can be the best resource
for our fellow Sisters of Lilac Lane. This survey is a way to start this
process and we appreciate your feedback and information.
The survey is a way for us to network and create social and career
contacts. Your participation is purely voluntary, but we already know
the generosity of our group. If you participate in the survey we would
like to make available the info you are comfortable giving us to women
in the Watkins Miller community. We are in the process of securing this
info so it goes out only to this group.
This is a way for those of us who received the benefit of living at
Watkins and Miller to give back. We will look forward to hearing from
to take the mentoring survey so we can begin linking you with current
Watkins and Miller residents who could benefit from your experiences.
Anyone touched by the legacy of Elizabeth Miller Watkins is eligible for Kitchen 8 membership. Whether you are a current or former Watkins or Miller resident or just interested in preserving her legacy of compassion and selflessness. There are no dues or fees for joining the organization.
